Meet Josh Retz, APRN, CRNA

Josh was born and raised in central Indiana. Growing up in Martinsville, he graduated from Martinsville High School and decided to stay close to home to attend college in Bloomington at the beautiful Indiana University. Josh’s academic track led him to a finance degree, but his experiences studying abroad fascinated him to learn about other cultures and languages. He spent significant time in both Mexico and Peru, where he learned to speak Spanish at a functionally fluent level.

After graduation, Josh began a career in finance in suburban Chicago. This was short lived as he transitioned to executive search in finance and accounting in Indianapolis. During this time, he was invited to go on an annual mission trip as an interpreter with a group that performed hip and knee replacement surgeries in Central America. This experience became such a blessing in his life, seeing so many less fortunate people have their lives changed by regaining their mobility. These trips motivated Josh to go back to school and enter the healthcare field; after the third mission trip, he did just that.

Since he had spent the most time with the nursing group on the mission trips, Josh found it natural that his transition into healthcare be through the nursing field. After graduating from Indiana University (again), this time with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, Josh began his career in the cardiovascular critical care unit at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He spent two years in that role prior to attending nurse anesthesia school at Michigan State University in East Lansing. For the next several years, Josh spent time in different operating rooms and endoscopy suites, delivering anesthesia to patients. Through this avenue, he met his business partner Kerri and decided to get back in the business of changing lives. Currently, Josh works part time as a nurse anesthetist for a county hospital in central Indiana and devotes three days per week to helping people find much needed relief through ketamine infusion therapy and IV vitamin infusions.

Outside The Office

Josh is originally from Martinsville and now resides in Plainfield.  He is married to his wonderful wife Chelsea and is a father to two children.  He is an avid, but mediocre golfer and plays every chance he gets.  He and his family enjoy traveling, playing in the backyard and trying new restaurants.
